It's a sad day for all of us Star Wars fans as David Prowse has passed away at the age of 85. David was the man who physically played Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy.
The news was shared by his management company, Bowington Management. "It's with great regret and heart-wrenching sadness for us and million of fans around the world, to announce that our client Dave Prowse MBE has passed away at the age of 85."
After Prowse won the British Heavyweight Weightlifting Championship in 1962, 1963 and 1964, he went to the acting world. Not only was he known for playing Darth Vader, he also had roles in A Clockwork Orange, Casino Royale and as Green Cross Code Man, a British superhero designed to teach children road safety.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Prowse.
